I respect the reasons for this but feel it may damage the senedd as it feeds the campaign to discredit Welsh government WG, and this may well be reflected in future elections.

The public are not convinced of the value for money of existing WG so to expand its costs in this high profile way is not timely. There needs to be more connection to the value WG provides. Also

Representative democracy and party politics is not really fit for purpose in its present form in the UK, it is not in good health, neither are our poltical parties.

Deliberative democracy is a better format which is under used. It rarely fails to please all participants and produces better decisions, generally.

Based on the evidence, would it not be better to take the salary proposed for new senedd members and use it for deliberative decision making by all sectors affected by a given decision?

Whether or not this suggestion is relevant, I suggest waiting to expand the senedd until there is public appetite for this, based on the proven success of WG.

I feel people voting to increase their own powers or salaries or numbers is not reputable. The public should have more of a say on this in some way?
